After retiring in 2010 from a 32-year career with Oncor, an energy firm headquartered in Dallas, Carol Peters became an active volunteer and community activist in Fort Worth. Currently, she is Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator for the Women’s Policy Forum and serves on the boards of the West Meadowbrook Neighborhood Association and the Tarrant County Black History and Genealogical Society.. She is also a past officer and board member of PRSA and the International Association of Business Communicators.
Carol graduated from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. She worked for a small daily, The Manhattan Mercury, before moving to Texas in 1978. Carol and her husband, Bruce, live in east Fort Worth. They have two children, Tracy, 27, a graduate of the University of North Texas, and Grant, 23, a graduate of Kansas State University.
